15 February boarding school students gathered in the assembly hall for a memory lesson, dedicated to the 28th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan.
The head of the library, Svetlana Vladimirovna Zakharova, told the children about heroism and exploits, committed in Afghanistan, about the war, about which little is known, which is almost not written about in history books. 15 February 2017 one year old 28 years since the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan. It was on this day that the war ended, which lasted twice as long, than the Great Patriotic War.
Afghanistan is a pain, Afghanistan – these are tears, Afghanistan is a memory. Soldiers, officers, privates, the generals honestly fulfilled their duty to the Motherland, courageously fighting several foreign powers at once. They did their duty to the end. And many of them, having died, stayed there forever. In memory of those, who died in Afghanistan, performing military, human and international duty, A minute of silence was declared.
More 200 тысяч воинов-интернационалистов были награждены орденами и медалями СССР. Звание Героя Советского Союза присвоено 71 «афганцу». Двадцати пяти из них это звание было присвоено посмертно.
